The darkness of night arrives before the clouds. The clouds cover the faint light of the moonless sky and further darken the evening like a tomb. Looking around, there was no semblance of direction, objects, land undulations – nothing but pitch darkness in every direction. No wind, no sound. No sense of anything.
Loneliness settles next to me. There is purity in tonight’s Loneliness – purity in the quiet – purity in the darkness – purity in nothingness.
The purity exhibits Loneliness’s strength. Tonight Loneliness feels permanent – that I am here in the quiet darkness, and nothing will ever change. No friends. No family. No love. Not even acquaintances. Not even glances from people walking by on the street. Just me – just me in complete isolation – just me and Loneliness.
